A Spring Coat

This is my first ever outfit of the day blog post, can you believe it?
Despite being a fashion lover, I've really neglected this passion within my blogposts, however as I am slowly becoming more happy with my personal style I'm feeling more confident to inject a bit of it into my little blog

I couldn't stop myself getting out my camera to take a couple of vain photos when I put on this outfit.

I'm not usually massively into coats, but this one is a game changer! I have fallen in love with this coat for the Spring season.

I love the flattering shape of the coat, it add elegance to any outfit, and stitches in your waist perfectly. The bright colours make a statement of a simple outfit, as I've done here.
This is a coat which adds the perfect a Spring/Summer vibe to your outfit, while keeping you perfectly wrapped up warm for when it's still a little chilly.

The coat was a hidden gem I found in a charity shop, which I paid £15 for - an absolute steal. Unfortunately the brand is not one I have heard of, or can find from doing my research so I'm not sure when you can get this style, however I think it's definitely worth looking out for something similar, this coat has became a real staple garment for my Spring wardrobe.

Outfit Details:

Coat - Charity Shop (paid £15)
Playsuit - ASOS (no longer available - sorry)

I will definitely be doing most outfit posts from now on!
I'd love to hear what you think of this outfit, and what some of your Spring Wardrobe Staples are!

'Coffee Table' Books | Wishlist

It is no secret, I love books and reading. I wanted to write a little bit of a wish list/to read list, however rather than talk about novels and storybooks which I often do on my blog, I wanted to speak about other books. I do not own enough 'coffee table' type books which you could just flick through occasionally, rather than having to read from cover to cover. These are the books which always catch my eye while I'm shopping, but I never treat myself to because there are always other things I should be spending money on (or not spending the money at all).

All of the books I am listing I've found on either the Urban Outfitters website or the Waterstones websites, I will leave links to where I have found them, but it's worth bearing in mind you may be able to get them cheaper on other websites such as Ebay and Amazon. I have also added them all to my amazon wishlist which you can find here.

A book on fashion blogs? Yes please.

A colouring book for adults to relieve stress? I literally could not think of anything better.

As I become older I am becoming more aware of the importance of what I eat (not that that keeps me away from the biscuit tin), so I would love to know more about how what I eat affects how I look etc (and maybe that will keep me out of the biscuit tin). I've heard good things about this book, so I'd quite like to have a little read.

I love the chic Parisian style, I think this would be great to flick through to get a few styling ideas.

Tarot Card are something I've always been rather curious about, I'd love to read this book to learn a little more about them. I did also notice they stock tarot card in Urban Outfitters too, which you can find here.

Since diving into the world of blogging I have became increasingly in photography, and it's an area which I'm keen to learn more, I think this book would be great as it seems to be a lot more straight talking than other photography books.

I have a love for the fashion world, and I'd love to know more about fashion which changed the world.

Those of you that have seen my bedroom blogpost (you can find it here) you'll know my bedroom is tiny, so this book would definitely come in handy for me.
I've heard good things about this book, I love make up and I love Bobbi Brown so naturally it is going to be on my wish list

It's no secret I love Tanya (see what I did there?), so I can't wait to get my hands on this one!

I can't wait to invest in some of these reads, I'd love to hear some opinions on these if you've read any.

Camden

Last weekend I had a lovely weekend in London with my Mum and Auntie. We saw War Horse in the evening (spoiler: blogpost coming) and spent the day looking around Camden Market. From what little I have seen of London, Camden is one of my favourite places in the city. I love the busy atmosphere, and I think there is just so much to see, beauty can be found in each little corner. I'll definitely have to pop back when I have got a bit of spare money to do a spot of shopping.
During the day I snapped the odd few pictures, apologies - none of them are that great but I thought I's share them on here nonetheless.

Spring Lips | Clinique Peony

I recently treated myself to a new lipstick - Clinique 47 Matt Peony (£17.50)

It had come to my attention that the majority of my lipsticks are red and berry shades - my  collection is really lacking when it comes to pinks, corals and nudes.

As the sky brightens and we head into Spring, I feel I need some pink and coral lipstick shades, whether bright or pastel, to be fitting with the season, which has left me with little to reach for in the lipstick department - my recent purchase of Cliniques Peony however seems to be filling a gap!

It is a pink with a coral undertone and a matte finish. I love the shade! I think it looks so fresh and brightening on the face, perfect for this time of year!

I'm really impressed with the formula so far, it's surprisingly moisturising for a matte finish and it's also pretty long lasting.

It cost £17.50 which is a little more pricey than a drugstore lipstick, however I think that's a pretty good price for a high end lipstick, and the quality makes me think it was worth every penny! Also I  quite like the packaging on this which is always a bonus.

I can't wait to wear this shade some more.
What's your favourite lipstick for Spring?

Gone Girl | Book Review

I recently finished reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn which I'm sure you've all heard of by now. I am going to try my best to review this book without giving anything away for those of you who haven't read it yet, so sorry I seem slightly vague!

There has been a lot of hype around this book especially with the recent release of this film, so I began to read with high expectations. However to be completely honest I felt a a little disappointed as I got into the start of the book My disappointment was also a bit confusing,  I could see the book was well written yet it didn't seem to be getting anywhere, the narrative seemed quite slow moving, but clearly had a high potential.

Having said this the beginning of the book was still enjoyable, I just happened to go in with extremely high expectation. The book is written in both in the perspective of the husband and the wife, and throughout it switches between the two which I really liked, however early on this can get confusing. The multiple perspectives definitely works really well with this type of story, there is a lot of suspense within Gone Girl, it constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next, and telling the story of each character really help to build the suspense and tension.

When I reached the second part of the book I realised a big twist in the story, and suddenly it was all a lot more exciting, and the beginning part which I didn't enjoy so much now made a lot more sense, and with the book became a lot harder to put down.

I've heard a lot of people say they were disappointed with the ending, I  however really loved the ending - it was unexpected and there are a lot more twists in the story the further you get into it, it is most definitely not a book which you will be able to guess what will happen next.

Overall I really enjoyed the book once I got into it, I'm looking forward to watching the film now! I think it's a really clever narrative and really well written, definitely worth a read, just bare in mind early on you might feel it does not live up to expectations, but keep reading because it will.

What's on my face.

Despite having no plans a few days back, I decided to put on a full face of make up, mainly because I felt crappy and I sometimes I find the better I look, the better I feel (plus who want to cry off expensive mascara, and winged eyeliner which is basically an art form when you get it right?!). Now I'm not the greatest at doing my make up but I thought I'd share the look with you nonetheless as it's slightly different to what I'd usually go for.
